The 162nd winner of the St Leger, held on Wednesday 8th September 1937 over 1 mile 6 furlongs and 132 yards of Town Moor, was Chulmleigh, a bay colt by Singapore out of Rose of England, owned by 1st Baron Glanely. A field of 15 runners contested the race which was worth £10,197. (Equivalent to £660,800 in 2017)
